Gunnar Bloss is managing director of werk5 GmbH. After his training as a carpenter, where he got to know the practical aspect of the craft, he studied architecture at the 'Universität der Künste' in Berlin and successfully completed his studies with the Max Taut Prize.
Since the foundation in 1995 he has been active in the werk5 team in the sector of digital model making and today heads the operative business together with Karsten Kröger. He is also responsible for the management of research and development projects which aims to test and successfully integrate the latest technologies into the model making trade.
He is currently in charge of a cooperation project with the TU Berlin (Technical University Berlin) on the use of robotics in model and exhibit construction, which is subsidized by the 'Zentrale Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand' (ZIM). As a campaign ambassador for the craft trades with its leitmotif "Is this still a craft?" he represents a company that integrates new and innovative technologies and which prepares this craft for the future.
