Moulding technologies
Thermoforming, deep-drawing, shape glueing
Free formed surfaces, bowls or simple bends can often only be achieved by deforming the material.

In a first step, a forming tool will be created from the CAD model – usually in a solid, 3D milled material, which specifies the form.

Especially synthetic materials and Corian® will afterwards be deformed at a certain temperature through a vacuum or a pressing mould.

The forms resulting from this process have to be precisely cut out with the 5-axis-CNC milling machine.
This requires a simultaneous handling of all 5 axes, with the milling tools executing perpendicular cutting edges in relation to the surface.

This interaction between the 5-axis milling machine and deformation allows the realisation of complex shaping for architectural models, design and furniture.
